En materia de autotransporte, resaltó que éste moviliza hoy en día 96% de los pasajeros y 56% de la carga. En 2016 el autotransporte de carga trasladó 536 millones de toneladas de carga y tres mil 623 millones de pasajeros. El autotransporte de carga general es prestado por 142 mil permisionarios con 886 mil unidades; mientras que el servicio de pasajeros lo prestan 18 mil permisionarios con 113 mil unidades.
Yuriria Mascott informó que en los últimos 3 años se han revisado en dos ocasiones la Norma Oficial Mexicana (NOM) 012 de Pesos y Dimensiones para responder a las recomendaciones del sector. De igual forma está por publicarse la Norma 087 que regula, por primera vez en la historia del país, el tiempo de conducción, pausa y descanso para conductores del servicio de autotransporte federal.
