No obstante, la arquitectura de los sistemas que conocemos en la actualidad tiene sus ancestros más recientes en los modelos creados hace un poco más de una década, y que desde entonces no han parado de perfeccionarse para ofrecer mayor seguridad y flexibilidad a sus usuarios.
Se trata de una plataforma de recursos informáticos que son distribuidos horizontalmente, donde existe infraestructura, middleware y software, que son ofrecidos al mercado como un servicio a través de internet. Los datos de los mismos son almacenados en instalaciones ubicadas fuera de la empresa y eso ofrece grandes ventajas en términos de gastos en infraestructura, instalación y mantenimiento.
Destacan tres ventajas principales con las que se ven beneficiadas las empresas que migran su ERP, la columna vertebral de su organización, hacia la nube.
Desaparece el costo de infraestructura
Las aplicaciones cloud utilizan infraestructura en la nube, así que no es necesario preocuparnos por compras de servidores y software base para instalar el ERP. Un ERP en la nube está disponible rápidamente, sin necesidad de pasar por un proceso de instalación.
