«Durante el segundo trimestre de 2017 continuamos avanzando en el fortalecimiento de nuestra estructura financiera, lo que nos permitirá mayor flexibilidad y liquidez en los siguientes trimestres, en los que anticipamos un dinamismo incremental de nuestras operaciones en México», comentó al respecto Humberto Garza Valdez, director general del Grupo. «A través del robustecimiento de la estructura del canal de cambaceo, buscaremos alcanzar una cobertura mayor a la de nuestra red de tiendas, aunado a la puntual ejecución de nuestras iniciativas, estimando alcanzar un Uafirda consolidado en línea con el rango de la Guía vigente».
En el mes de julio, Grupo Famsa avanzó en el fortalecimiento de su posición financiera con la suscripción de una nueva línea de crédito por Ps.2,634 millones con Bancomext, a una tasa de TIIE + 300 pbs y un plazo de 10 años, recursos que destinará a la amortización anticipada de 110 millones de dólares de sus bonos senior con vencimiento en 2020, y al pago de aproximadamente Ps.700 millones de deuda bancaria de corto plazo. En el mismo sentido, durante el periodo, continuó realizando importantes esfuerzos para fortalecer su estructura financiera, logrando disminuir en 16.9% su deuda neta, la cual pasó de Ps.8,497 millones al 4T16 a Ps.7,063 millones al cierre del trimestre, gracias al uso de los recursos obtenidos de la monetización de activos conducida el trimestre pasado.
Siguiendo su estrategia de optimización operativa, durante el periodo, se llevó a cabo el cierre selectivo de 9 unidades de negocio: 1 tienda y 6 sucursales bancarias, en México, así como 2 tiendas en Estados Unidos, finalizando la primera mitad del año con una red de 861 unidades. Asimismo, para el segundo semestre de 2017 se anticipa el cierre de 3 tiendas, 4 sucursales bancarias y 10 sucursales prendarias en México, así como 3 tiendas en Estados Unidos; en pro de una estructura de negocios más eficiente.
