La solución, que usa API de reconocimiento visual de Watson en IBM Cloud, permite a los agentes aduanales digitalizar documentos en tiempo real a través de sus móviles para la rápida identificación y clasificación de bienes, reduciendo errores e incrementando la productividad.
En América Latina, los clientes que envían productos internacionalmente deben entregar a las agencias aduanales los documentos físicos que contengan todos los detalles de cada uno de los bienes. Los agentes procesan estos documentos manualmente para después identificar y clasificar el envío en orden de calcular tarifas e impuestos.
La plataforma de Logiety permite a los agentes aduanales capturar digitalmente estos documentos con cualquier cámara. La app envía las imágenes a la nube de IBM, desde donde la API de reconocimiento visual de Watson analiza y provee descripción del producto, regulación y clasificación, permitiendo a los agentes identificar rápidamente las tarifas requeridas, así como sus impuestos.
Una de las agencias aduanales del Sureste de México, que ya ha probado el servicio, ha visto reflejados beneficios como la reducción de tiempo durante el previo aduanero y clasificación arancelaria, agilización de procesos y reducción de costos en la operación. A través de la digitalización de los procesos manuales con el reconocimiento visual basado en la nube, los agentes aduanales son ahora capaces de examinar más contenedores por semana; lo que antes le tomaba a un agente 15 horas, hoy sólo le lleva cuatro horas. El 73% en el incremento de productividad de los agentes se traduce en importaciones y exportaciones más rápidas para los clientes.
La plataforma empezará a comercializarse en las próximas semanas. Logiety tiene proyectado ingresar en siete países de Latinoamérica para después traducir la plataforma al inglés y así abrir oportunidades en muchos más países.
