El sector de cuidado de la salud siempre ha sido innovador, se destaca por estar al frente de la adopción de la tecnología móvil, con dispositivos usables y apps de ejercicio personal, que ofrecen información como nunca antes sobre la salud de los pacientes, y como consecuencia, una demanda de mejores prácticas en cuanto a tecnologías móviles de parte de sus empleados.
Una investigación llevada a cabo por la Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) promovido por Aruba, una compañía de Hewlett Packard Enterprise, arrojó que el uso de tecnologías móviles dentro y fuera del lugar de trabajo está teniendo un impacto positivo en la productividad y satisfacción de los empleados del sector salud.
Los hallazgos sugieren que 6 de cada 10 trabajadores (59%) reportan ser más productivos en sus trabajos gracias a las tecnologías móviles, mientras que casi la mitad (48%) están más satisfechos en su trabajo si perciben que su empleador es un buen proveedor de condiciones móviles de trabajo.
A pesar de que el uso de tecnología móvil ha ganado popularidad entre los empleados, algunos hospitales aún restringen el uso de teléfonos celulares dentro de las instalaciones por temor a que interfieran con el equipo médico. Sin embargo, el reporte sugiere que la sociedad se encuentra en una etapa en la que las demandas de movilidad no pueden ser ignoradas, ya que casi un tercio (29%) de los trabajadores del sector, mencionan que no trabajarían para una empresa o empleador que no les permitiera usar sus dispositivos móviles en el trabajo.
El estudio además, arroja cifras sobre la productividad, lealtad, creatividad y grado de satisfacción de los empleados:
39% mencionó que la posibilidad de trabajar a cualquier hora o en cualquier espacio tiene el mayor impacto en su satisfacción laboral;
38% mencionó que la posibilidad de colaborar efectivamente tiene un impacto significativo en lo creativos que son en su trabajo;
31% menciona que la posibilidad de trabajar en cualquier lugar de la oficina como el principal factor para generar lealtad;
El estudio también encontró que el ambiente de trabajo optimizado para la tecnología móvil deja a los trabajadores del sector sintiéndose más leales (36%) y más creativos en su trabajo (41%).
Un hallazgo interesante es que casi la mitad (47%) de los trabajadores calificó los esfuerzos de movilidad de su compañía como “buenos” o “pioneros”, a pesar de que la investigación dejó claro que aún hay cosas por mejorar.
Ocho de cada diez organizaciones grandes en el sector, no ofrecen ningún tipo de entrenamiento sobre cómo usar los dispositivos móviles de manera efectiva para el trabajo, y 68% no ofrecen herramientas digitales de colaboración a sus empleados, tales como Slack o Gchat.
Estos hallazgos sugieren que el sector salud tiene una gran oportunidad, no solo para mejorar la satisfacción de sus empleados, sino también para fortalecer el servicio que provee a su público.
