Parte de estos trabajos es la promoción del ferrocarril de carga, con los libramientos de Matamoros, Durango, Manzanillo y Celaya; las obras de convivencia urbana en Salamanca, Zapopan y Ciudad Juárez, y la modernización de la infraestructura en el Chiapas-Mayab.
La creación de la nueva Agencia Reguladora del Transporte Ferroviario (ARTF), el 18 de agosto del año pasado, forma parte de estas acciones.
